London Marriott Hotel launches workshops with Edge Hotel School
London Marriott Hotel County Hall has teamed up with Edge Hotel School to launch a series of workshops for hotel degree students.
The scheme will offer activities including a guided tour of the five-star, 200-bedroom hotel; mock interviews with the HR team; and talks with key members of hotel staff including general manager, Theresa Maw; food & beverage director, Sebastian Schweitzer; and guest relations manager, Rebecca Burton.
The hotel's HR director will come to the school to give tutorials, and encourage the students to apply for internships and work placements at the London Marriott County Hall.
Christoph Hoffmann, vice principal at the Edge Hotel School, said: "We're very appreciative of the time and effort that the London Marriott Hotel County Hall team has put into the foundations of our relationship. Meeting different personnel from the hotel helps our students develop an understanding of how their careers can progress in the industry."
Theresa Maw, general manager at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall, said: "It's a genuine pleasure to be working alongside such a prestigious educational establishment and contributing to the development of the industry's future leaders."
A hotel school housed within a real working hotel, Wivenhoe House, Edge Hotel School offers a two-year intensive Hotel Management degree from the University of Essex.
It teaches its students professional and managerial skills, as well as academic theory and extensive experience in working in hospitality.
