London visitors do not need to cancel trips, reassures VisitBritain

Tourism body VisitBritain has warned visitors to London to expect major disruption in Central London following the terrorist attacks yesterday, but it said there was no reason for visitors to cancel their trips.

In a statement it said: "The police have not indicated who has caused these explosions so VisitBritain will therefore not speculate at this stage what impact, if any, there could be on the visitor economy.

It added that its main concern was for the people who had been affected by the incident and would monitor the situation and update overseas offices as required.

"At this stage there is no reason for people to cancel their trip to Britain or London. However, they should be aware that there is major transport disruption in Central London."
