London Warehouse aparthotel details revealed

More details have been revealed about the opening of the 166-bedroom London Warehouse in Manchester.

Originally slated to open this summer, the property is now due to open in spring 2019 and will be a collaboration between aparthotel operator Native, Pablo Flack and David Waddington of London restaurant Bistrotheque and boutique gym concept Blok.

While the 166 aparthotel suites will be overseen by Native, Bistrotheque will operate the ground-floor lounge, restaurant, coffee counter, mini cinema, bar, meeting rooms, private dining and outdoor terraces. Blok will also open its first gym outside of London at the venue.

The Industrial Revolution building in the city's Northern Quarter formerly operated as the Place aparthotel.

Guy Nixon, founder and chief executive of Native, said: "The purchase of the former Place aparthotel has been a sector-defining opportunity for us to work with the industry's best creatives, architects and designers. With over 100,000 square feet of space, this has been an extraordinary opportunity to take one of the great icons of Manchester's industrial past and turn it into a major destination for the city."

Flack said: "We hope that we can become just one small piece of what I think of as a dynamic jigsaw."

Reema Stanbury, co-founder of Blok, added: "With a strong emphasis on architecture and design, the London Warehouse development is the perfect location and through our partnership with Native and Bistrotheque, we are able to create something which truly is the ultimate cultural destination."
