London's In & Out club to be ‘urban retreat'

Two historic listed buildings are set to become new luxury hotels.

London's In & Out Club and Mentmore Towers in Buckinghamshire are to be redeveloped at a cost of more than £140m. A source close to the project confirmed each site would have between 100 and 120 rooms, designed by Julian Reed, as well as spa and health club facilities.

Both hotels are being developed by Syrian-born tycoon Simone Halabi through his family property group, Buckingham Securities.

In 2000 Halabi paid £50m for the In & Out Club, formerly the Naval and Military Club on Piccadilly. It is now set to become London's first six-star urban retreat, while Mentmore Towers will be styled as a country getaway.
