London's May Fair and Edinburgh's former Missoni hotels join Quorvus Collection

Two UK hotels have been announced as the first members of Quorvus Collection, the new luxury brand from the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

The May Fair hotel, London, and the G&V Royal Mile hotel, Edinburgh, will join the Symphony Style hotel, Kuwait, to become the first properties to sit within the soft brand, all different in size, architecture and design.

The Edinburgh and Kuwait hotels were previously branded as Missoni properties. However, the Missoni name was dropped following the announcement in February by Carlson Rezidor that it had ended its licensing agreement with the Italian fashion house.

The company, which through its strategic partner Rezidor operates the Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson brands in the UK, revealed the news alongside the launch of two new global hotel brands: Radisson Red and the Quorvus Collection. Radission Red is to be a lifestyle brand of more than 60 hotels, while the Quorvus Collection will be made up of around 20 luxury properties.

"The Edinburgh and Kuwait hotels will join the Quorvus Collection immediately, and we anticipate the May Far joining the collection later in the summer of 2014. We aim to grow a global portfolio of 20 hotels in operation and under development by 2020 through conversions and newly built urban hotels and resorts".

The 404-bedroom May Fair hotel is owned and operated by Edwardian Group London.

Meanwhile, the new name for the 136-bedroom G&V Royal Mile hotel is intended as a nod to the area's royal heritage, located in the centre of Edinburgh, at the corner of George IV Bridge, Victoria Street and The Royal Mile. The hotel continues to carry the Rosita Missioni's colourful and highly patterned designs.
