London's revpar increases six months in a row

Revenue per available room (revpar) increased in London hotels for the six month in a row during February, according to preliminary data from STR Global.

Revpar grew 6.6% to £98.34, alongside rises of 4.9% in average daily rate to £128.12 and 1.6% in occupancy to 76.8%.

Elizabeth Winkle, managing director of STR Global, said: "The fast growing UK economy as well as the continuing recovery of the Eurozone suggests a positive outlook in terms of hotel performance for the British capital in 2014." She predicted an overall increase of 4.2% in revpar during 2014.
