Man dies after fall from Butlins hotel

A 23-year-old man has died after falling from the balcony of a hotel at Butlins holiday resort in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

Sussex Police said that the man had been identified as Timothy Wall of St Leonard's, Ringwood, Hampshire. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.15am on Saturday, but were unable to resuscitate Wall who was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

After speaking to witnesses at the hotel, the police said Wall's death was unexplained, but not suspicious. The matter has now been passed to the coroner's officer and a post mortem will take place in due course.

A spokesman for Butlins Bognor Regis said: "Everyone at the resort is shocked and saddened at this tragic incident. We have offered help and assistance as best we can to the family and friends of this young man."
