Manchester has strongest hotel pipeline in Europe

Manchester is the focus of Europe's busiest hotel development, according to the March 2013 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report.

The city is expecting bedroom growth of 22.7% if all 3,061 rooms currently being planned and developed go ahead.

There are currently 818 hotels totalling 135,115 rooms in the pipeline across Europe.

After Manchester, the four other markets reported significant room growth are Birmingham (17.5% with 1,702 rooms), Istanbul (14.9% with 5,447 rooms), London (14.1% with 16,392 rooms); and Moscow (12.7 percent with 4,697 rooms).
