Manchester hotel prices hiked for the Rugby League World Cup final
Manchester hotel prices have increased 68% for the Rugby League World Cup final on Sunday 30 November.
According to the trivago Hotel Price Index a room will cost £181, up £73 on the monthly average.
However, there is less interest for the other group games with prices not significantly increased in Wigan or nearby Liverpool for the quarter final between England and France this weekend or the semi-finals in London.
In the UK as a whole, the Hotel Price Index reported an increase of 12% year-on-year in Norwich (average of £92 per night), 10% in Cambridge (£109 per night) and 9% in London (£175 per night).
It said that in Europe hotel prices had decreased by up to 45% this month, though across the year as a whole they were up 5% on last year. The most dramatic moves were in Venice (down 45% to an average of £115 per night) and Rome (down 32% to £93).
In the last year prices in Amsterdam and Dublin have increased by 14% to an average of £120 and £84 respectively.
