Northumberland's Matfen Hall hotel has welcomed sailor Marc Thompson back to terra firma as hotel services manager. In the newly created role, Thompson will oversee the running of the front office, housekeeping and the sales office. He was passenger services manager for P&O Cruises, working across four of the company's luxury cruise ships.
