Mark Godfrey joins Deer Park Country House hotel as MD

Former managing director of Harbour Hotels Group, Mark Godfrey, has been appointed as managing director of the 25-bedroom Deer Park Country House hotel in Honiton, Devon.

In his new role, Godfrey will oversee a host of improvements at the 18th century hotel - located within an 80-acre estate - including the development of a new Italian garden and updates to its 25-bedrooms.

The hotel, which has a licence for outdoor civil ceremonies in its summer house, is frequently used as an exclusive use venue.

Godfrey said: "I'm thrilled to be a part of the hotel; it's located in a beautiful setting and has so much potential, it's a real gem.

"With the work and changes we have planned, our aim is to be known as one of the finest wedding venues in the South West."

The Deer Park Country House hotel is privately owned by Nigel Wray and Steve and Ann Noar.
