Marketing consortium to target ski resort hotels

Three former UK hotel executives have joined forces to launch a marketing consortium for ski resort hotels.

Snotels has been created by former snowboard instructor and resort executive Michael Metcalfe with the support of former Virgin Hotel chief executive Paul Clark and Mike Jones, previously vice-president at Hilton International.

The company, which will provide brand awareness, technology, marketing and service support for independent hoteliers, is aiming for a membership of 50 hotels by 2016.

Jones said: "Our reservation, hotel management and technology systems will maximise hotel revenues and give hotel owners major advantages over regional competition."
