Marriott Grosvenor Square evacuated after fire

The Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel had to evacuate guests - including an awards event full of journalists - following a small fire last week.

Four fire engines were called to the building in London's Mayfair on Friday afternoon (15 May), after a fire which damaged part of a lift motor room triggered an alarm.

Journalists attending the Regional Press Awards at the hotel had to leave the building midway through the event and were eventually located to a nearby hotel, according to www.getwestlondon.co.uk.
