Matthew Dixon appointed GM of Corinthia hotel in London

Corinthia Hotels has appointed Matthew Dixon as general manager of the Corinthia hotel in London - scheduled to open late 2010.

The property will be Corinthia Hotels' latest five-star flagship, with 300 hotel bedrooms and suites, three restaurants, a large central courtyard foyer, tea lounge, destination bar and ballroom.

Dixon was originally Savoy trained and later gained knowledge of hotel marketing and operations at group level and at Claridge's, London.

In his early career, he gained de luxe international experience in various senior executive roles with Mandarin Oriental and spent a period with Rocco Forte Hotels as general manager of the Hotel de Russie Rome and Brown's Hotel London.

Then, shortly after the opening of the Grove, he joined as general manager and until recently developed and operated this five-star international hotel destination.
