McDonald's boss appointed to board of IHG
Jill McDonald, the chief executive and president for Northern Europe for fast food chain McDonald's has been appointed to the board of hotel giant InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) as a non-executive director.
In an announcement to the City this morning, IHG said that McDonald's appointment would be effective from 1 June 2013.
McDonald has been in her role at McDonald's since 2010 and was senior vice president there from 2006 to 2010. Previously she spent 16 years with British Airways and held a number of senior marketing positions in the UK and overseas.
Patrick Cescau, IHG's non-executive Chairman, said: "I am very pleased that Jill has agreed to join the IHG Board. Her wealth of experience in franchising and marketing will be extremely positive for the Group. I very much look forward to working with her."
McDonald will also serve on the audit and nomination committees of the IHG board.
