ME London appoints Juan Asín as general manager

Meliá Hotels International has appointed Juan Asín as the general manager of ME London, the 157-bedroom lifestyle hotel it opened last year.

Asín, who is fluent in four languages, has joined the hotel from the Meliá Luxemburg, where he was also general manager. He was previously hotel manager of the Meliá White House in London, and before that worked for Park Hyatt and Westin.

Alex Hugot, vice-president of ME by Meliá, said: "Juan is one of the very best general managers we have in the group and we are delighted that he will now be leading the team at our flagship hotel, ME London.

"The hotel had a very successful launch year in 2013 and Juan is just the character, with his passion, experience and drive, to ensure that this success continues."

Asín added: "Having worked for Meliá for the past seven years, it is an honour to now be heading up the flagship property, ME London. I have an excellent team working with me and I am excited about the challenge that lies ahead."

Asín replaces the launch general manager Fabio Gallo.

Meliá Hotels International operates 365 hotels in 40 countries under seven brands. As well its London hotel, the ME by Meliá brand also has properties in Madrid, Majorca, Ibiza, and Cancun and Cabo in Mexico.
