Michael Wignall to join Pennyhill Park hotel

Michael Wignall, executive head chef at the Devonshire Arms in Yorkshire, is to leave the Michelin-starred restaurant to join Pennyhill Park in Bagshot, Surrey.

Wignall will leave Devonshire Arms later this month after more than five years, and will open Michael Wignall at the Latymer at the five-star Pennyhill Park on 16 November.

He replaces Andrew Turner, who left Pennyhill earlier this year to join London's Langham hotel as head chef of its stand alone restaurant The Landau.

Since Turner's departure, the restaurant and kitchen at Pennyhill have undergone a complete redesign and refurbishment, resulting in a 50-cover restaurant, terrace, lounge bar area and 10-seater chef's table.

Michael Wignall at The Latymer will offer the chef's signature dishes including suckling pig; praline sphere with roast watermelon; and caramelised blueberries alongside new creations.
