Michelin-starred chef Martin Wishart to head up Cameron House restaurant

Michelin-starred chef Martin Wishart is to head up the new restaurant at De Vere's flagship property Cameron House.

Wishart, who will oversee the restaurant Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond when it opens on 5 December, joins Cameron House after running his eponymous restaurant in Edinburgh for the past four years.

As part of the deal chef Stewart Boyles and sous chef John Rivière will move from Restaurant Martin Wishart to the De Vere property. Steven Strachan and Gavin Ross will also leave Edinburgh to run the front of house operation at Cameron House.

Wishart previously worked at Cameron House in 1991, when it first opened, as the hotel's chef de partie.

He said: "I'm excited to be able to have a restaurant in the west. I've had opportunities to expand my business in the past, but the timing or details just haven't been right.

"This partnership with Cameron House has come at the right time for me and my business, and obviously I have a great affinity with the property," said Wishart.

Stephen Carter, managing director of Cameron House, said: "The partnership between Cameron House on Loch Lomond, one of Scotland's finest hotels and Martin Wishart, an internationally renowned Michelin-star chef is a perfect fit and we believe this latest venture will further promote Cameron House as Scotland's premier property".

Edinburgh-based designer Ian Smith, who designed both Restaurant Martin Wishart and Cook School by Martin Wishart, has designed the look of the Cameron House restaurant.

Restaurant Martin Wishart and Cook School by Martin Wishart will both continue to operate as normal.
