Michelin-starred chef Paul Ainsworth to open hotel

Michelin-starred chef, Paul Ainsworth is set to open his first hotel, the Padstow Townhouse in spring 2015.

Ainsworth together with his wife Emma, currently own Michelin-starred Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 and Rojano's in the Square, both in Padstow, Cornwall.

The Padstow Townhouse, which is being transformed from the 18th century Tregea Hotel, is also located in the heart of the North Cornish seaside town on the Camel estuary and will feature six luxury bedrooms.

Sold at a guide price in excess of £650,000, the property has retained many of its original Grade II-listed, mid-18th century features, including stone walls, casement windows, fireplaces and timber floors.

Ainsworth said: "We want to take what we do at Number 6, the level of service and attention to detail, and extend that out to our rooms."

The Padstow Townhouse will be just a minute's walk from their restaurant Number 6, which was awarded a Michelin star in 2012 after Ainsworth took over the restaurant in 2009.

Emma Ainsworth added: "We're really excited to be taking on this project and are looking forward to opening next year."

The hotel was sold by property agent Savills, on behalf of receivers Alder King.
