Midlands buyer for Cornish hotel and restaurant

John Acornley from the Midlands is the new owner of the Bottreaux hotel and restaurant in the North Cornish village of Boscastle.

The 200-year old building, which is near the original site of the Norman Bottreaux Castle, has a prominent position in the village which centres around an Elizabethan harbour and is close to ‘King Arthur' landmarks such as Tintagel.

The hotel offers eight luxury en-suite bedrooms with ocean and valley views, a 32-seat restaurant with two AA rosettes, a residents' lounge and a self-contained apartment.

The property will be managed by chef Keith Robins and his partner, Anna Whitsted.

The Exeter office of Christie + Co sold the property on behalf of Alan and Carlotta Cooper.
