Mondrian hotel brand to open in London
Morgans Hotel Group is to launch its fantasy, cutting edge Mondrian brand in London.
The US-based company plans to operate a hotel in Sea Containers House, the building on London's South Bank which was built in the 1970s as a 750-bedroom hotel but was converted into offices.
Archlane, the owner of Sea Containers House, has applied for planning permission to redevelop the building into a mixed site to include a four-star contemporary hotel, offices, restaurants and retail space.
The Morgans Hotel Group currently operates two hotels in London - the Sanderson and St Martins Lane. There are three Mondrian hotels in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, with further properties planned in Doha and the Bahamas
