More than a million for two-star hotel

A sales price of around £1.1m has been achieved for a two-star hotel on the Isle of Wight.

The Montrene Hotel, which is located in nearly two acres of secluded grounds some five minutes walk from Sandown town centre, was purchased by experienced hotelier, John Amor.

The property features 19 en-suite letting rooms - including a honeymoon suite - a 120-cover dining room, and a 100-cover lounge bar, with a dance floor and stage.

The site also includes an indoor leisure complex with heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi and games room.

Owner's accommodation comprises a self-contained three-bedroom flat at the rear of the building with its own private garden.

The agent was Christie +Co, acting for Jim Ringer and Rod Stewart.
