Nathalie Seiler-Hayez appointed general manager at the Connaught

The Connaught hotel in Mayfair, London, has appointed Nathalie Seiler-Hayez as its new general manager.

Seiler-Hayez arrives at the five-AA-red-star, 123-bedroom hotel, which has recently undergone a £70m restoration, from Bordeaux in France, where she was general manager at the Regent Grand Hotel.

She said that she was honoured to join the Connaught, which she described as "one of the most prestigious and legendary hotels in the world".

Seiler-Hayez has previously worked in Paris and New York for several international hotel companies, including Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, Concorde and Regent.

Born in Switzerland, she is fluent in English and French and is a graduate in International Hospitality Management from the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne.

"Joining the dynamic team of such a respected establishment is a dream come true and I look forward to working in London, truly one of the world's most exciting cities," Seiler-Hayez said.

Stephen Alden, chief executive of Maybourne Hotel Group, which owns and manages the Connaught, described Seiler-Hayez as a highly talented hotelier who brings with her a great deal of valuable experience in luxury hotel operations.

"I am delighted to have Nathalie join Maybourne Hotel Group to lead our team at the Connaught," he said. "In her role as general manger, Nathalie will continue to build on the Connaught's positioning as one of the world's finest hotels with a tradition for delivering highly personalised and intuitive service as one of London's most distinguished addresses."

Seiler-Hayez replaces Anthony Lee, who was general manager of the Connaught for eight years before leaving in May. He has recently been appointed to the same position at the five-AA-star, 406-bedroom May Fair hotel, London.
