New appointment at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has appointed Liz Phillips as its new director of people.
Phillips will bring over 20 years of experience of leading large-staff hospitality businesses with her when she starts the role on 1 September.
Most recently she worked as HR director at Mitchells & Butlers, whose brands include All Bar One, Miller & Carter, Browns and Premium Country Restaurants.
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts recently invested £1.25m over three years in a new cloud-based HR system, which will operate 24/7.
Phillips said: "The Macdonald group has a clear focus on developing its staff to ensure that it consistently delivers outstanding service to guests. Its recent major investment in new HR systems is a testament to its drive to placing people at the very core of its growth and I'm looking forward to contributing my experience in growing brands through talent management."
Ruaridh Macdonald, deputy chief executive, said: "Liz has vast experience in developing employer brands, leading on training and recruitment and developing talent, all of which will be fundamental to effectively delivering our people strategy."
The group currently operates 55 hotels and resorts across the UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal.
