New book features hotel chefs' recipes
The publishers of the Distinction World series, titles for hotel and restaurant groups around the world, have produced their first Chefs of Distinction Worldwide cookbook. Following three UK editions of Chefs of Distinction, the book, published next month by Ptarmigan Publishing, will feature about 100 recipes from hotel chefs.
Among the hotels featured are the Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles; Jumeirah Beach and Burj Al Arab, both in Dubai; and Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands. UK hotels include the Vineyard at Stockcross and Edinburgh's Balmoral hotel.
"Hotels are constantly looking at new and innovative ways to promote themselves in an increasingly crowded market," commented Mark Hodson, chief executive of Ptarmigan Publishing. "It is not often that a marketing initiative actually pays for itself while providing a highly effective promotional tool and increasing awareness of the hotel to a worldwide audience."
Chefs of Distinction Worldwide will be available in a few bookshops and will be on sale in participating hotels for £25.
Ptarmigan will also be launching PrimeCaterer later this year, which will link premium hotels and restaurants across the UK and Ireland with "quality" suppliers.
