New consultancy role for former MD of Bulgari Hotel London
Sylvain Ercoli has stepped down as managing director of the 85-bedroom Bulgari Hotel London to launch a new consultancy business.
He has set up Macassar and Partners to advise international investors looking to launch luxury hotel and residential projects.
Based in London, Ercoli will draw on 36 years of experience working with luxury hotel brands such as One & Only and Raffles Hotels & Resorts.
Prior to the five years launching and then overseeing the Bulgari, he lived and worked in Paris - also for five years - initially as general manager at the Hotel de Crillon and then at the Hotel Royal Monceau.
In 2006, Ercoli spent a brief period as general manager at Claridge's hotel in London. Earlier in his career he worked at the Hotel Martinez, Cannes, and the George V and Hotel Ritz in Paris.
During his running of the Bulgari, Ercoli appointed French, Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse to open the Mediterranean-inspired Rivea London restaurant to replace the original Il Ristorante outlet.
Ercoli is yet to be replaced as managing director at the Bulgari Hotel London.
