New general manager for Claridge's hotel

The five-star Claridge's hotel in London has appointed a new general manager.

Michael Hoffmann previously worked for the Peninsula Group in both Hong Kong and New York, as well as for Ritz-Carlton in New York and Boston.

He has also managed a variety of properties, including the Bacara Resort and Spa in California and the Ocean Club in the Bahamas.

Hoffmann replaces managing director Christopher Cowdray, who left Claridge's in May to join nearby rival, the Dorchester.
