New general manager for Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour
The five-star, 158-bedroom Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour hotel has appointed Jay Witzel as general manager.
Witzel, who was appointed to the hotel as a consultant in February 2011, takes up his new position immediately.
Earlier this month the Wyndham Grand, which has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment programme, was put on the market for £80m by Dublin-based property developer Harcourt Developments, with property agent Colliers International. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts operates the hotel under a 20-year lease, which it secured in 2007.
Prior to joining the Wyndham Grand, Witzel was president and chief executive of Carlson Hotels Worldwide and Carlson Hospitality, as well as chief executive of Regents Seven Seas Cruises.
Witzel's 35 years in the hospitality industry have included stints at Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Radisson Hotels and Resorts, where he was president.
Commenting on his appointment, Witzel said he was excited about the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead in what is a big year for London.
"We have an excellent dynamic team in place and I look forward to continuing my work with them to ensure we maintain the highest level of service for our guests and to develop the hotel to its full potential," he said.
