New glh. luxury brand Clermont launches with Royal Horseguards hotel
glh. has launched its first new hotel brand since its own name change from Guoman Hotels earlier this year.
The London-based subsidiary of GuocoLeisure Group today announced the launch of a new global luxury hotel and private residences brand called Clermont. glh. is launching with three Clermont properties, across two continents, in a project with a gross development value of £2.1b (US$3.2b).
London's Royal Horseguards hotel, which is owned by glh., is the first UK property to be rebranded. Following a comprehensive renovation, aimed at restoring the hotel's "Victorian splendour", the Royal Horseguards will become Clermont London in 2014.

Two new international management contracts branded as Clermont will follow. Clermont Singapore will form part of the integrated mixed-use development Tanjong Pagar Centre, which at 290m will be the tallest building on the island when it opens in 2016.
Clermont Kuala Lumpur will be situated in Damansara City on a freehold site in Damansara Heights, part of a mixed development that is also scheduled to open in 2016.
glh. chief executive Mike DeNoma said the company's strategy is to launch 30 Clermont hotels in "globally significant locations" over the next decade.
