New GM for Clayton Hotel Chiswick ahead of £20m upgrade
Thomas Doyle has been appointed general manager of Clayton Hotel Chiswick, ahead of the completion of a £20m refurbishment and extension project at the 227-bedroom property in west London.
Doyle (pictured) joins the property having worked at Jurys Inn for 17 years. Most recently he was general manager of the company's Islington property, which was rebranded as DoubleTree by Hilton London-Islington last year.
Doyle described the move to the Clayton Hotel Chiswick, which is one of a 13-strong brand owned by Dalata Hotel Group, as a "very exciting" opportunity.
"The completed new look will be unveiled in February 2016 when we hope local residents and businesses in the area will come and appreciate our fantastic facilities, fresh new look and welcoming feel," he said.
The renovation, which began in June 2014, includes the addition of 104 bedrooms and the upgrading of existing bedrooms, a new bar and restaurant, meetings and events facilities, and an extended reception area. The hotel has been fully operational throughout the work.
Further appointments to the management team include head chef Gaurav Puri, previously sous chef at Claridge's; meetings and events manager Lukasz Klosiewicz, who is moving from Clayton Crown hotel in Cricklewood; director of sales Gaurav Dhaul, joining from Grange Hotels; and HR manager Lauren Cooper from Accor New Zealand.
