New GM for the Gallivant
The two-AA-rosette Gallivant restaurant with rooms in Camber Sands, East Sussex, has appointed Elise Roberts as its new general manager.
Roberts started her career in hospitality at the five-AA-star Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel, in London, rising through the ranks to become one of the youngest cluster directors of sales for the Waldorf and Trafalgar hotels, aged 26. She was then headhunted to join the Aviator Hotel by TAG at Farnborough Private Airport as director of sales and marketing, working across departments.
The 20-bedroom Gallivant is located directly opposite Camber Sands. Many rooms have their own private decks and gardens, and the venue also has a three-star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association, one of just 73 businesses in the UK to receive the top rating.
Roberts said: "I am incredibly excited to join the Gallivant. The owner has ambitious expansion plans and I am looking forward to attracting more passionate hospitality professionals with our industry-leading remuneration packages to this emerging destination. It's also going to be lovely to move out of London and live by the coast. I am really looking forward to the improvement in lifestyle that this will entail."
Owner Harry Cragoe added: "Elise was just the person I was looking for to take the Gallivant on to the next chapter of its story and assist with my plans to open more Gallivants. She's a charming industry leader and goes about her day with a quiet professionalism."
