New hotel and B&B rating standard to be released soon

Details of the new hotel and B&B common rating standards announced exclusively in Caterer in July are to be released imminently.

It will be the first time a single method of assessing and rating serviced accommodation has been agreed by all of the UK's main accreditation bodies.

The 39-page document will detail the criteria under which accommodation will now be judged, and has the support of the national tourist boards of England, Scotland and Wales, the AA and the RAC.

The report is expected to be available on the VisitBritain and British Hospitality Association websites when published.
