New Ibis Styles hotel in Ealing on fire

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at the 120-bedroom Ibis Styles hotel, which is currently under construction in Ealing, west London.

The whole of the roof and part of the plant room of the eight-storey building are alight. Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters are at the scene of the incident on the Uxbridge Road.

There are believed to have been no casualties after all building workers were safely evacuated from the property.

Around 40 calls were made at around 11.30am alerting the fire brigade of the blaze.

The hotel, which is to be leased and managed by AccorHotels, was due to open in June.
