New luxury hotel consortium reveals UK plans
Newly launched luxury hotel consortium Utopian Hotel Collection has its sights set on the UK with plans to sign a hotel in London by the end of the year.
The collection, founded by Paul Cordier and Ronald Homsy (pictured), launched today with a portfolio of 24 independent hotels across Europe and the Middle East, including the Hotel Furnirussi Tenuta Italy, Hotel Vistabella in Spain, Le Grand Bellevue hotel in Switzerland and the Emblem Hotel Prague.
Homsy said: "Having successfully launched the Utopian Hotel Collection… we are focusing our attention closer to home to identify the perfect Utopian property in the UK. London is a city which is very close to our hearts, with a wealth of outstanding hotels, and we want to ensure the property we select is exactly the right fit for our guests. Our aim is to have a Utopian hotel in the capital by the end of the year."
Homsy previously worked for AccorHotels in the Middle East before founding a clutch of hospitality businesses including Les FenÁªtres brasserie in Paris, hotel and travel holding company CHI Capital, and property management company Circle Management.
Cordier previously worked for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Belgium and as director of sales and marketing for the Dominican hotel in Belgium. He is also a founder and executive chairman of CHI Capital, a managing partner of real estate development company CoGiVa and managing director of hotel and travel consultancy PureC.
He said: "We are at a significant turning point in the luxury travel industry. Utopian Hotel Collection is well positioned to offer a new type of luxury experience which enriches, surprises and reignites travellers' passion for adventure."
