New owner for Fife hotel

The Belvedere hotel in the Fife village of West Wemyss, near Kirkcaldy, has changed hands.

Michael Heavey from Fife, who has experience in the licensed trade, has bought the hotel from Australians Stacey and Rick Warren.

The property, which has been built in an elevated position in the Wemyss estate in the village, overlooks the harbour in the Firth of Forth.

It offers five en-suite bedrooms in the main hotel building and another 15 in two annexes.

Other facilities include a 50-seat restaurant, lounge-bar, diners' bar, private car park and an owners' flat with a double bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom.

The Edinburgh office of Christie & Co sold the leasehold on the property off an asking price of £130,000.
