New owner for Whitley Bay bar with rooms

The Caprice hotel and Whistler Oyster bar in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, has a new owner.

The freehold has been bought by John Proud for around the asking price of £625,000.

The property trades as a public bar with 21 letting bedrooms (16 of them en-suite) and is ideally sited on the main licensed circuit of the town's South Parade , which leads to the seafront.

It additionally has a large function room with raised seating that doubles as a 100-seat restaurant, along with parking for 12 cars and a private rear courtyard.

The Newcastle office of Christie + Co handled the sale.
