New owners for award-winning New Forest guesthouse

An award-winning guesthouse in the heart of the New Forest has been sold off an asking price of £1.075m.

The Rufus House hotel, which is located on the edge of Lyndhurst village in Hampshire, was recently awarded an AA five-diamond rating and, in 2004, won an AA Red Diamond Supreme Achievement award.

The late Victorian property was built as a country residence in 1876 and served as a care home before its conversion into a guesthouse in 1998.

It offers 11 en-suite bedrooms, including the Turret Suites which have their own lounges and offer sweeping views over the forest.

Other facilities include a 25-seat dining room, landscaped gardens with a rockery and koi carp pond, and owners' accommodation on the ground floor providingfour double en-suite bedrooms, a large sitting room and a laundry/utility room.

The Winchester office of Christie + Co sold the freehold on the hotel to Ernesto Esposito and Etsuko Ho on behalf of Alma and Paul Carter.
