New research to explore relationship of hoteliers with owners

A study which will explore the relationship between hotel general managers, owners, asset managers and management companies is to be launched during the Master Innholders' 22nd Annual Hotel General Managers' Conference, later this month.

The Master Innholders is collaborating with Professor Demian Hodari of the Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne on the on the project, which is believed to be the first of its kind. The study will aim to determine each party's goals, objectives and criteria for evaluating success, and ultimately what leads to better hotel performance.

Hodari will speak at the two-day conference, which will be held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 19 and 20 January. He will join a panel of speakers which will include Sir David Michels, chairman of Michels & Taylor; Paul Slattery; director of Otus Consulting; and Susan Bland, director of human resources at Redefine BDL Hotels.

Other speakers include Arthur de Haast of Jones Lang LaSalle; Mario Jobbe, chief operating officer, Brand Karma; Rebecca Stephens, the first British woman to climb Mount Everest; and Tom Parker-Bowles, food writer.

The full delegate conference package rate of £420 per person includes the conference, lunch on both days and a Champagne reception and black tie dinner. A day only session costs £175 per day, with the Champagne reception and black tie dinner priced at £175.
