The new Chuan Spa at the Langham hotel, London, is to become the first hotel spa in the capital to offer the principles of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
Dating back thousands of years, TCM offers a holistic approach to harmonise body and soul, as well as enrich personal happiness and fulfilment.
Developed at a cost of £2m, the Chuan Spa has six treatment rooms, including one for couples with treatments for two-hour, half- or full-day packages starting from £350.
There is also a fitness centre and a 16m swimming pool, located in a former bank vault. The spa manger is Katie Henry and the Langham's global director of Chuan Spas is Barry White, whose responsibilities includes looking after spas in Hong Kong, Auckland and Melbourne.
