NH Hoteles first group to go back to oxo-biodegragable plastic
NH Hoteles is believed to be the first major hotel group to switch to oxo-biodegradable plastic for all its professional packaging requirements.
The Spanish-based group, which has three hotels in London and 393 properties across the world, has launched a joint environmental initiative with Symphony Environmental Technologies to show hospitality companies the benefits of oxo-biodegradable plastic over normal other forms of biodegradable plastic.
It will then degrade automatically, without any human intervention, and can also be recycled and reused like ordinary plastics.
NH Hoteles, which aims to be one of the world's greenest hotel groups, will be converting to ox-biodegradable plastic for items such as shampoo bottles, laundry bags, carrier bags, bin liners and branded packaging in all of its hotels.
The hotels operated by NH Hoteles in London included the St Ermin's, the Kensington and Harrington Hall.
