Norfolk hotel's doors stay open despite owner's bankruptcy
A hotel in north Norfolk is to continue trading normally, despite its owner being declared bankrupt.
A bankruptcy order was issued against Ranald Maxted, who traded as Aylsham Lodge hotel.
Accountants and business advisors Larking Gowen have been appointed trustee in bankruptcy and indicated that the 15-room hotel, which employs 13 full- and part-time staff will stay open.
David Whitehead of Larking Gowen said: "Mr Maxted's bankruptcy relates primarily to a previous business, rather than the trading performance of the Aylsham Lodge Hotel."
"Mr Maxted is currently seeking to annul his bankruptcy and pay all debtors in full which would mean the hotel returning to his ownership."
The firm said that any creditors of Maxted or the hotel should send details of their claim by post.
