Old Bakery in Hindolveston, Norfolk, wins AA's friendliest B&B award

Five years of providing a sanctuary for guests who stay at the Old Bakery B&B in Hindolveston, Norfolk, has won Mike and Alison Thomas the AA Friendliest Bed and Breakfast 2016 accolade.

They were one of six businesses to be recognised at the annual AA Bed and Breakfast Awards, presented at a celebratory lunch today at the London Landmark hotel.

Mike and Alison Thomas spent six months renovating the Georgian property that makes up the Old Bakery before welcoming their first guests in July 2011. Within six weeks they won a four star gold award and a breakfast award from the AA.

The Thomas' offer tea and homemade cake to every arrival, alongside a wealth of local knowledge and a "nothing is too much bother" attitude in ensuring visitors make the most of their stay. Hence, it is no surprise that many guests return time and time again, having built up a strong and enduring relationship with the couple.

Mike Thomas said: "To be named the AA's Friendliest B&B for 2016 is wonderful - we are over the moon to be recognised in this way."

Peter Laigaard Jensen, head of AA Hotel & Hospitality Services said that running a bed and breakfast takes a lot of dedication, passion and personal commitment. Each of [the winning] B&Bs offer great hospitality and are passionate about giving their guests the best possible experience during their stay."
