Oliver Williams departs Ellenborough Park

Oliver Williams has left his role as general manager of Ellenborough Park for a new role in Ireland.

Williams joined the five-AA-star, 61-bedroom hotel near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, in December 2015 from Lime Wood in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, where he was hotel manager.

Mervyn Parrish of Michels & Taylor, the hotel management company that operates the hotel on behalf of owner Shetland Hotels, will oversee hotel operations while a replacement is sought.

A statement from the hotel said: "After two and a half years as general manager of Ellenborough Park, Oliver Williams is moving on to a new role in Ireland, where we wish him well. Mervyn Parrish is currently overseeing the hotel operations whilst we recruit a new general manager."

Ellenborough, which overlooks Cheltenham Racecourse, opened in 2011 and is a member of Pride of Britain Hotels. David Williams has joined the hotel as executive chef following the departure of Matt Weedon last year.
