One Warwick Park hotel to launch with no general manager
Soon-to-be-launched luxury hotel One Warwick Park, in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, has announced its senior management team with the notable exception of a general manager.
The 39-bedroom hotel will open for business next month in the Pantiles district of the town with a team of what the owner Markerstudy Leisure calls "rising star specialists" at the helm.
Markerstudy Leisure managing director Louise Clark said: "We made a conscious decision to move away from the conventional hospitality structure."
Franck Bellavoine will be food and beverage manager, overseeing all elements of the hotel's food and drink offering including the 75-cover restaurant, L'Amore, private dining, afternoon tea, room and event services. He was previously food and beverage manager of the Brew House hotel, which along with the adjacent Old School House building, has been transformed into One Warwick Park.
Bryony England has been appointed head of front of house, with Melissa Brooker taking on the role of group events manager and Roland Gal as group head housekeeper. The management team will report to Markerstudy Group's chief operating officer, Andrew Daniells.
"We believe our staff should be experts in their field; knowledgeable curators of their own specialism, unrestricted by a rigid hierarchy which may not enable them to innovate, create and implement a superlative experience. We've therefore appointed from within to create roles which are responsible for different guest touch-points," added Clark.
The hotel previously announced the appointment of Marco Goldin, previously head chef of D&D London's Cantina Del Ponte. as executive head chef.
