Operator sought for luxury Battersea Power Station hotel
An operator is being sought for a luxury hotel planned for the redevelopment of iconic London landmark Battersea Power Station.
Knight Frank and Christie + Co have been appointed by the developer, the Battersea Power Station Development Company, to find a partner for the property.
The new hotel will be located at the northern end of the Foster + Partners-designed building known as The Skyline and is expected to house 160 bedrooms.
The Skyline forms part of the third phase of the scheme, which will also include 350,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space plus additional leisure space and 517 new homes.
The top of the entire building will be given over to one of London's largest roof gardens, measuring more than a quarter of a kilometre long.
Dominic Mayes, head of Knight Frank hotels team, described it as an excellent opportunity for an operator to be part of the "hugely significant development".
"We expect room night demand to be extremely strong at Battersea, not only due to the scale of the Battersea Power Station development and adjoining schemes, such as the US Embassy, but also due to the excellent communication links to other commercial and leisure attractions of the capital with the introduction of the underground," he said.
Christie + Co's head of investment Jonathan Parrish added: ""The redevelopment of iconic Battersea Power Station is stylish, innovative and inspiring and we are seeking a hotel operator and a product that reflect the ethos of this unique development."
