Owner of Brighton's Lansdowne Place hotel in administration

The company that operated the four-star Lansdowne Place hotel in Brighton has entered administration.

KPMG Restructuring Partners was called in to administer Lansdowne Investments Limited (formerly Max Hotels (Dudley) Limited) on 11 January.

The hotel had already closed prior to KPMG's appointment and is no longer trading.

Jane Moriarty, KPMG restructuring partner said: "The tough economic conditions have seen a significant drop in revenues at the Lansdowne Place Hotel, and the management team were forced to close the hotel prior to our appointment.

"We are now in the process of looking for buyers for the property, and hope that new owners will be able to restore the fortunes of this once popular hotel."
