Park Inn Hyde Park attracts more than 40 viewings
More than 40 viewings of the Park Inn Hyde Park have taken place since the 188-bedroom hotel was put up for sale earlier this month for more than £35m.
Property agent Christie + Co said the interest in the Rezidor-managed property highlights that well-located, freehold assets continue to generate strong interest from a wide-range of domestic and international buyers.
Currently owned by the Gresham Hotel Group, which is off-loading the property to concentrate on its Irish and continental European portfolio, the hotel has already received a number of preliminary bids before the first round offer process on 14 April.
"After the sale of the Park Inn London, Russell Square, at the end of last year, which highlighted that central London hotels of around 200 bedrooms could still generate strong interest, we expected a good level of response for this freehold asset," said Jeremy Jones, director at Christie + Co.
"However, we have still been pleasantly surprised by the number of viewings we have already carried out and the level of interest, which is approaching £40m."
"London continues to be a global safe harbour for investors both from the UK and abroad, with realistically-priced freehold hotel assets, with development upside, continuing to catch their eye."
