Park Lane hotel chef Andrew Bennett collects MBE
Chef Andrew Bennett, food and beverage director at the Park Lane hotel, London, has been presented with an MBE by the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Bennett, who has been at the Park Lane hotel since 1994, received the honour for his "exceptional services to the hospitality industry".
As well as running the food and beverage operation at the Park Lane hotel, Bennett spends a considerable amount of time attracting young people into the hospitality industry. Over the past ten years, he has built up a network of schools and colleges which he works with on a regular basis to offer work placements to students.
Fellow hotel chefs Henry Brosi, executive chef of the Dorchester, and Paul Gayler, executive chef at the Lanesborough, applauded the award.
"Andrew is well respected across the London kitchen scene, particularly for his commitment to training, and there are a lot of friends and colleagues who are delighted to see him recognised with such a prestigious honour," said Brosi.
"Andrew is a true professional in all that he does, he always goes the extra mile and is the first man to say yes when it comes to making a difference," added Gayler.
