Park Plaza County Hall's Lisa Williams named AA Housekeeper of the Year

Lisa Williams, head housekeeper at the Park Plaza County Hall, London, has been named the AA Housekeeper of the Year 2011.

The annual award, sponsored by Northmace & Hendon, recognises a housekeeper who goes above and beyond the call of duty, as well as displaying outstanding commitment and performance.

Williams, who joined Park Plaza County Hall in December 2009, received her award at a celebration lunch at Galvin at Windows, London. As manager of a team of 76 housekeepers, she takes responsibility for all aspects of room preparation and training.

The judges were impressed by Williams' commitment to achieving the highest quality in housekeeping standards. Her general manager, Simon Mahon, praised her work ethic and attention to detail. "Lisa is truly inspirational," he said.

"She is a great ambassador for housekeepers everywhere. She is passionate, focused, caring and driven. Lisa consistently delivers fantastic results for our guests while leading and developing her people in exactly the right way. I am proud to work with her".

Also attending the lunch were the two runners-up - Praxeda Kassami, executive housekeeper at the Cavendish, London; and Susan Brougham, head housekeeper at Matfen Hall Hotel, Northumberland.

Williams is seen here with Simon Numphud, AA hotel services manager (left) and Rudi Plaut, chairman of Northmace & Hendon (right).
