Patrick Burke appointed chairman of Luxury Jersey Hotels
Managing director of the Atlantic Hotel in Jersey, Patrick Burke, has been appointed chairman of the marketing consortium Luxury Jersey Hotels.
The group of nine four and five-star hotels was launched in July with the aim of repositioning the island as a destination for tourists looking for exclusive, indulgent or boutique breaks.
In recent years, the individual hotels within the group, which includes the Atlantic, Longueville Manor and the Club Hotel & Spa, have invested around £150m in refurbishing and developing their properties.
Burke's new deputy chairman is Lawrence Huggler, managing director of the Huggler Group, which owns the Club Hotel & Spa.
Also joining the board is newly-appointed managing director of the Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, Jane Goodyer.
The board changes have been made following the departure from the island of former chairman Anna Dowling, who stepped down as managing director of the Grand Jersey last month to take up the position of general manager at The Royal Horseguards, London.
Luxury Jersey Hotel markets itself primarily through its website, www.luxuryjerseyhotels.com.
